You may have heard or read that age is just a number. Well, this is not exactly true on a biological level.

A person’s habits and surroundings play a significant effect on how he/she ages. A 20-year-old drug addict may have the heart of a 40-year-old and the brain of a 60-year-old!

Different organs age at a different rate. Having a low chronological age (number of years you’ve lived) does not guarantee a low biological age (how old you seem based on biomarkers).

If you abuse your body, you will age rapidly and probably not live very long. If you take care of yourself, you can add several productive years to your lifespan.

It is highly recommended that you go to a clinic and undergo a few simple tests that’ll reveal your biological age. It might serve as a huge relief, or a wakeup call — depending upon how you’ve lived so far.

Here are a few indicators that you have a high biological age:

  • You fall sick very often
  • You are often tired
  • You’re not very sharp mentally
  • Wounds don’t heal quickly
  • You feel depressed and listless.

If you’re experiencing these symptoms even though you’re not exactly ‘old’, you should focus on reorganizing your lifestyle before it’s too late.

Let us now come to developments in the field of anti-aging.
